1. How did you come up with the Name of your Shop?
As a nickname everyone calls me Chels, however, my step sister is the only person who always calls me Chel. Chel is a special name to me because it always reminds me of the connection that I am so fortunate to have with my step sister. ChelDesigns became my name as a motivating factor for myself because every time I look at my name I am reminded of one of my biggest fans!
2. Tell us a little bit about your shop and what you think makes it unique?
My shop features hand painted and completely customizable picture frames. I put my heart and soul into every frame I make. I believe that I am unique because with my frame you can create the exact image you have in your mind. For example, with my customization you are able to mix and match designs, add monograms, names, greek organization letters or words, and choose the exact colors you would like your frame to be. Therefore, the product that I design and send to you is just the way you want it so that you are proud to give it as a gift or display it in your own home.
3. What is your favorite item at the store and why?
My favorite item in my store is my "Imagine" frame. When I was a little girl my dad would always tell me "Anything you imagine you can become". This because a phrase that I have always lived by. Therefore, my Imagine frame reminds me that anything I put my mind to I can do! It is a very positive image for a 4x6 frame!
4. What inspires create your products?
My friends and family inspire me to create my products. Every time I receive positive feedback I am reminded exactly why I put in the effort to create frames that will put a smile on someone else's face. I could not do anything that I do today without the love and support they give me. I truly owe everything to them. Here are a few things more things to learn about Chelsea and her work.
5. Where can we find you?
My Etsy shop is located at www.etsy.com/shop/cheldesigns
6. What advice can you give for other sellers out there for their shop?
Patience is key, I am not the best at it and struggle with it everyday, but it is something that is extremely important to have with a small business like this. Also, be thankful for every piece of constructive criticism you receive. It is easy to be upset when someone tells you they do not like something about your shop, however, these pieces of advice are only meant to help you and help make your shop the best it can be!
7.Now some fun facts about you?
I am obsessed with the color purple! Almost everything I own is in purple.
I am currently attending graduate school to become an elementary school teacher.
I am told every time someone sees my hand writing that I have "teacher handwriting".
8. What is your Favorite Food?
Tough question since I love all food! Probably either raspberries or mac n' cheese.
9. Describe us one positive event in your life in your life that you felt was a miracle to you or that you knew the Universe was there watching over you.
My junior year of college (about a year and a half ago) my mother was laying in bed in the middle of the night and discovered an itch. While scratching that itch my mom discovered a lump. She went to the doctors the next day where they discovered that that lump was breast cancer. My mom had a mastectomy and has been cancer free and recovering ever since. We truly believe that some angel made my mom have that itch so that she could find the lump. That itch saved my mom's life!
10. What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
A while back I visited Costa Rica. We stayed in areas that were not touristy and got to truly experience the culture and beauty of the amazing country. The beaches were the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen and we were the only ones on them. I would give anything to go back and feel the water, hear the waves and experience that peacefulness again.
